The culinary journey of Nello and his family began long before, with Nello's extensive experience in the food industry in New York and Palm Beach. This foundation led to the opening of their first restaurant,... "Talk Of The Town," in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1963, a venue that catered to the stars. Following this success, the family expanded their reach to San Francisco with the renowned D'oro Restaurant. The inspiration for Nello's Place in Redding arose in the early 1980s when Nello and his wife, Tomiko, along with their children Michael, Rose, and Gina, sought to retire but found a lack of quality local Italian dining. This led to the creation of a small gourmet Italian restaurant, which has since become a celebrated destination stretching from Seattle to San Diego. Nello's Place expresses gratitude for its continued patronage, a testament to its enduring appeal.
