Salerno's Red Hots, a dog-friendly establishment, brings Chicago's beloved flavors to Yorkville, honoring the legacy of Joe "The Hot Dog Man" Salerno. Established in 1991 by Joe Sr. and Tony Salerno as a mobile hot dog cart business serving Villa Park Youth Baseball, the restaurant's roots run deep in family entrepreneurship.... Tony later expanded with a second mobile venture in Oswego in the late 1990s, supporting local sports programs before Joe Sr.'s passing from ALS in 2009 and a subsequent recession put operations on hold. In a heartfelt tribute to Joe Sr., Tony and his son, Anthony Jr., reopened Salerno's Red Hots as a brick-and-mortar location on November 15th, 2018. This vibrant spot offers a menu filled with Chicago classics, including Vienna Beef hot dogs, Maxwell St. Polish sausages, and Italian Beef sandwiches, available as a single, double, or with sausage combo. Patrons can also indulge in the restaurant's signature fresh-cut fries, made daily on-site, along with JUMBO dogs, Vienna Beef corn dogs, and ILTACO Pizza Puffs.
