Wingen Bakery, a dog-friendly establishment located in Downtown Livermore, first opened its doors in 2020. This bakery specializes in a diverse array of European pastries, including fresh croissants, kouign amann, and bear claws, alongside a wide selection of sourdough breads and sandwiches. Everything crafted at Wingen Bakery... is made fresh, with a commitment to sourcing ingredients as locally as possible. The bakery's journey began in 2020 as a home-based operation, offering a way for Bryan and Aimee Wingen to be present caregivers for their newborn daughter, Waylynn, who was diagnosed with Zellweger Syndrome. After a pause in operations following Waylynn's passing at eight months old, the Wingens returned to baking with renewed purpose, finding solace in the craft. By the fall of 2020, they were a regular at the Livermore Farmers Market, consistently selling out each week. This success led to the acquisition of a local bakery at 50-52 S Livermore in February 2021, allowing Wingen Bakery to expand its reach. The experience of working from home was invaluable for Waylynn's quality of life, and the support of the Livermore community has been instrumental in the bakery's growth, making it a welcoming spot for both human and canine patrons.
