Dave's Hot Chicken, a dog-friendly establishment, emerged in 2017 from a simple yet ambitious concept: to craft the ultimate Nashville Hot Chicken. Childhood friends Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan pooled a modest $900 to launch a humble stand in an East Hollywood parking lot. Chef Dave, with his... culinary background from Thomas Keller's French Laundry organization, meticulously searched, tasted, and fried his way to perfection, creating a menu that centered on exceptionally juicy and tender chicken. Each piece is seasoned with Dave's proprietary spice blend, ranging from "Mild" to "The Reaper." The restaurant's popularity skyrocketed thanks to Arman's savvy social media efforts, attracting attention from publications like Eater/LA, which proclaimed it might "Blow Your Mind." Within a year, the buzz translated into a physical storefront in a hip strip-mall, adorned with art by local street artists, where demand continued to grow, often with waits exceeding an hour. This cult following for their craveable hot and spicy chicken has since expanded across the U.S. and Canada. The initial pop-up featured a concise menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw, and the overwhelming positive response led to the opening of their first brick-and-mortar location in East Hollywood in January 2018, where sales have consistently climbed with enduring queues.
