This establishment crafts cider from 100% fresh-pressed local apples, eschewing gluten, preservatives, added sugar, sulfites, and concentrate for a pure, modern interpretation of the Old World beverage that once... earned Newark the title "champagne of ciders." Visitors can enjoy this high-quality, affordable cider at the tasting room, housed in a beautifully restored 18th-century timber-framed barn. Complementing the cider is a curated menu featuring seasonally available, locally sourced produce and grass-fed meats, ensuring a delightful culinary experience for all. Ironbound Hard Cider is dedicated to revitalizing Greater Newark by providing meaningful, well-paying jobs, including apple cultivation at Ironbound Farm in Hunterdon County where thousands of heritage Newark cider apple trees have been planted. A recent law permitting urban cider making allows Ironbound Hard Cider to move cider production and its apple nursery into Newark, further expanding job creation and aiming to reintroduce the legendary Harrison apple to its historic home.
