La Bodega, a dog-friendly Spanish culinary destination, invites patrons to experience authentic tapas, paella, and sangria. Since its establishment in 1998, this premier Kansas City Spanish restaurant has been dedicated to serving delightful small plates, prepared with the freshest ingredients, mirroring the culinary traditions... of Spain. Guests can embark on a mini-vacation to Spain without leaving the city, enjoying dishes designed for sharing. The restaurant's original location, "The Original," at 703 Southwest Blvd in Kansas City, MO, opened its doors on December 7, 1998. This space was meticulously transformed to evoke the ambiance of tapas bars experienced by the owners throughout Spain, with influences from cities like San Sebastian, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, and Sitges. The décor features a mosaic bar and art reflective of Spanish masters such as Picasso, Dali, Miro, and Gaudi, including famous Nude Body paintings by KC artist Peregrine Honig and metalwork by "Stretch" and Jesse Smalls. La Bodega's second location, established in Leawood, Kansas, at 119th & Roe, opened in October 2010. This venue duplicates the successful tapas menu from the original location, while incorporating a more modern, contemporary urban aesthetic, still celebrating similar art influences and a mosaic bar. Both establishments boast excellent street patio and sidewalk cafe dining options, with the Leawood location offering more space for larger gatherings. Happy Hour is available daily from 2-6 pm, featuring reduced prices on selected tapas, wines, well drinks, beer, and sangria. La Bodega encourages guests to make plans to dine and share the unique sights, personal service, and wonderful authentic Spanish cuisine with friends.
