This dog-friendly restaurant, just 20 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, has earned acclaim since 1999 as Utah's Most Romantic and Best Restaurant,... making it a sought-after venue for corporate dinners, private banquets, and weddings, alongside its regular nightly service. Established in 1994, the restaurant's roots trace back over 80 years to 1920, when steel baron L.F. Rains constructed this magnificent log hideaway as an anniversary gift. Logs were shipped from Oregon and painstakingly hauled up Millcreek Canyon to create the stunning "Log Haven," a sanctuary built at the base of cliffs and flowing waterfalls, originally serving as the Rains family's summer home. This idyllic retreat became a hub for local executives, fostering future planning for Salt Lake City and Utah by the warmth of its many fireplaces. After falling into disrepair and facing demolition in the late 1980s, Margo Provost revitalized the historic site in 1994, undertaking a complete refurbishment. Log Haven now invites guests to enjoy its warm fires, cascading waterfalls, and wilderness setting, complete with outdoor patios, opportunities for wildlife viewing, and live music nightly, where four-legged friends are warmly welcomed.
