The culinary vision behind Orofino is rooted in the experiences of Danilo Orofino, who honed his skills in Palermo, Sicily, studying both the culinary arts and restaurant management. His journey to... restaurateur began with a vacation to the United States, leading him to New York City where he gained valuable experience at Italy in Manhattan. A subsequent opportunity in Fredericksburg, VA, saw Danilo managing the highly popular Basilico, where he delighted patrons with gelato and became a local favorite. This accumulated expertise, from Italy and New York to Fredericksburg, equipped Danilo with the passion and tools to create Orofino, a restaurant that embodies his love for exceptional food, Italian culture, and a truly special dining experience. Danilo and Alona currently reside in Fredericksburg with their children, Alessio and Emilio.
