Riverhouse Waterfront Restaurant, a dog-friendly establishment situated at the end of the pier at Regatta Pointe Marina on the historic mile-wide Manatee River, offers a dual waterfront dining experience. Established in 2009, the venue itself, along with the marina, dates back to 1980, with the waterfront site holding historical... significance as home to Palmetto's first settlers and early shipping piers for Manatee County and Tampa Bay. The VanDerNoord family, who purchased the marina and restaurant in 1987, continue to operate this unique location, which sits on a natural island once linked to the mainland by a wooden pier in the 1950s. On the ground level, guests will find the Reef & Grill, a local favorite since its complete remake and reopening in 2009. This casual spot provides both indoor and outdoor seating, a full liquor sit-down bar, and features a large menu with weekly specials and a daily happy hour. The Reef & Grill's offerings include seafood, burgers, and vegetarian options, making it a great choice for families, groups, and casual date nights. Ascending to the second floor reveals an elevated coastal kitchen, a gourmet experience delivering an abbreviated menu within a warm, historically inspired setting. This refined space is perfect for indulging in decadent dishes, relaxing with cocktails, coffees, and confections, and sharing conversation.
